A Woman Ahead of her Time. Ada Lovelace Wrote the first computer algorithm and imagined computers doing more than just math, making her first computer programmer. She was inspired by her interest in mathematics, encouraged by her mother to pursue science instead of poetry. As a woman in 1800s she faced exclusion from scientific circles, and her work wasn't fully recognized until long after her death. To reduce bias in tech today, we need to support girls in STEAM, promote diverse role models and create inclusive spaces that value everyone's ideas.
The Mexican Inventor of a Colorful World. Guillermo Gonzales was engineer who invented one of the first color TV system, allowing colorful images to be shown on black and white equipment. He was inspired by his love for electronics, building radios and TV devices as a teen. As a Mexican in a field dominated by U.S and European Companies, he faced underrepresentation and lack of recognition. To fight racial bias in tech today, we need to expand access to STEAM education, highlight minority innovators and ensure all contributions are valued equally.
